U12 In2 East Area Champions!

With a full day of hockey ahead of them, the U12 boys met bright and early in Harleston Magpies' clubhouse to keep warm and get organised. Resisting the tempting smell of bacon butties, coach Paul and team manager Carl talked through the plan of action with the boys.

Game 1 saw us facing Blueharts, a team we had played several times already this season. A great start with a 3-0 win (Ethan, Jonnie x2). Game 2 was a convincing 4-0 win vs Ipswich (Hugo, Jonnie, Olly DG x2). The toughest challenge came in Game 3 vs the home team, Harleston Magpies, and CCHC lost 1-0. Game 4, the heavens opened quite literally – the boys got a soaking – but they were back to their winning ways with a 2-0-win vs Crostyx (Hugo, Olly DG). Into the semis, and we faced Saffron Walden. This was a tricky one, with friends from school and previous hockey encounters, but the boys kept their cool and won 2-0 (Jonnie, Olly DG). The final was a re-match vs Harleston Magpies, and a tense 1-0 victory (Jonnie) meant that CCHC won the regional title for the second year running. 

There were fantastic performances from all the boys, with great passing, midfield strength and defending. And many vital saves from Ollie R to keep us in contention throughout the tournament.

This was a win for which everyone has worked hard and played nice hockey all season, and all U12 boys played their part towards this success, whether they were in the squad of 10 at Harleston Magpies or not. Thanks to all the coaches, admin and parents for their support all season. Onwards and upwards and raring to go to Nottingham on 7^th May.
