U12 Girls Red 3rd at In2 National Finals 🤩

Our U12 Girls are officially the third best team in the country 🤩

🎉🥳🎉What an amazing day for our U12s who have come 3rd at the @EnglandHockey IN2 Nationals ❤️🤍❤️

The girls had a tough start, losing out in a tight match to eventual winners Surbiton, and also losing a defender as Lara headed off to A+E with a suspected broken leg 😮. The girls bounced back with 2 fantastic wins in their remaining pool games against Westbury HC and Brooklands HC to finish second in their pool and set up a 3rd/4th play-off match against @slazhcjuniors.

It was a huge boost to have Lara back from A&E (sporting a natty boot) to cheer the girls on. In what was another great game of hockey, goals from Matilda (x2), captain Sophie H, and Hollie saw them home as 4-1 winners 🥉

So proud of every player. The girls played fantastic hockey all day. Lucy and Katya made some amazing runs on the wings (with Katya also getting 2 goals), and defended some very good opposition players skilfully and tirelessly. Juliette (also popped up with a goal), Sophie N, and Charlotte were super solid in defence, making it hard for the opposition to get into our D, and creating so many chances through some clever and very accurate passing. These were gratefully converted by goal machines Hollie (x5), Matilda (x4) & Sophie H (x2).

Biggest shoutout to GK Annabel! As the youngest member of the team on a very warm day she made some fantastic saves in every game, and on multiple occasions several in a row! A great goalkeeping performance!
