W4 vs Cambridge Nomads 1

It was a sunny, quiet start to the game against Nomads. A tornado had just ravaged Wilby, a 4 mile walk from parking space to pitch, the 4s seemed a little shell shocked. However, the initial passes were strong, the movement was slick, and tackles hard. But a goal just wouldn’t come. A few short corners proved unfruitful and neither team could convert. The ladies 4s were playing well but with nothing to show for it.

Half time chats included some highly healthy fruit filled Haribo and the arrival of an energetic crowd! It made all the difference! The 4s sprang into action, achieving and converting an early short put away by Anna P. Within another few minutes, another short, another Anna another goal!! Suddenly it was like they couldn’t stop! Frosty wanted a piece of the action and banged away a blinder! Xanthe  wasn’t being left out here and scored a cracker! 4-0 and it seemed like it was in the bag.

Although everyone started to flag, and Nomads put one away, we finished strong. The wins continue and the scoring pattern continues (1-1, 2-1, 3-2, 4-1) - watch this space for 5 (and 20…)!
