M6 vs St Ives 4

Cammy S x 4, Ben J x 1

Man of the Match - St Ives Goalkeeper

The M6s kicked off their league campaign with an emphatic victory over a newly promoted side from St Ives. The final margin of victory did not flatter to deceive and it could have been many more if it wasn't for a series of saves from the visitor's young goalkeeper.

City had about 80% possession and produced wave upon wave of slick passing moves. When we were good the game went something like this: Pass, pass, pass, pass, pass, shot, save. When we were bad it was more like this: Pass, pass, dribble, tackle.

One nil up at half time and after some wise words from Skipper Stephen Graves we resumed the onslaught. Cammy ended up with four goals including a brilliantly worked passing move. Ben J scored with his open stick and after much debate it was agreed there was not much his most ardent fan and coach could find wrong with it.

Peterborough away will be a much more demanding fixture but it was great to get the season underway with a bang.
