Thanks for your message!

What a night! An amazing evening celebrating the best people at the best club!
A huge thank you to Naomi, Strat and Rhi who made the evening possible and to StuBear and Webby for capturing some magical moments. Phil Robinson picked up the Club Person of the Year Award for his tireless efforts to look after the men’s sides and guide it through a tough period. Norbs picked up coach of the year for his dedication to the men’s club session. Maia made it two on the bounce for Young Club Person of the Year. Can we tempt her to stay for one more season and do the threepeat?
U18 Players were Emilia N and Henry Denny Gouldson. Both making waves internationally already!
Goalkeeper of the Year went to two previous winners - Naomi and Guinness both picking up the award for a second time! Mass confusion when Guinness’ civilian name was used by the announcer though!
We then danced the night away before the annual Matilda Open Challenge saw many a CCHCer tap out on the dance floor. Vinyl and McDonalds awaited the majority of the club!
Photos are now live. Check your chat messages in Teamo for the link and password.
See you all at Summer League!
❤️❤️❤️
Sally Tippen Club Person of the Year Award - Phil Robinson
Mens Club Captain Phil Robinson took the prestigious volunteer award, recognising his commitment as Club Captain for ten years and the particular challenges he has addressed this year as the mens teams had a difficult period. Phil has been the welcoming face of CCHC for a long time, ensuring that new members feel appreciated and like they belong. He has done a brilliant job of juggling the need to perform as a club, balanced with the fact we are a volunteer led community asset. Phil is a well loved and well respected member of the club and this award is just recognition for his contribution.
Andy Richardson Coach of the Year Award - Charles Norbury
Having coached in the junior set up for a couple of seasons Charles Norbury took the Coach of the Year award for his efforts in supporting the mens club. On the pitch Charles has played at a high level throughout his career, in both Australia and England. Having represented the University Blues team he joined Cambridge City a few seasons ago and has been a considerable asset to the club. Bringing all this experience to the club sessions means there is a greater understanding by the players of what is expected of them to progress to national league standard. Come rain or shine Charles has been at training, week-in-week-out to ensure that the players get the best support they can.
Young Club Person of the Year - Maia Polonius
Winning the award for the second season in a row Maia has had a brilliant final year ahead of University. Unassuming with no ego she has impressed with her maturity. Her team is dominated by ex-national league players, many more than twice her age, yet she has felt comfortable to offer insight and ideas to team talks - as well as provide one-to-one advice for her teammates in how to improve their game. When she switches the stick for the whistle Maia has been a long standing volunteer at the club and this past season achieved her National League Level 3 Umpire Award, joining the NPUA. This is a particularly impressive achievement as she has not had the benefit of years in the young umpire development programmes.
U18 Girls Player of the Season - Emilia Noordhuis
In her second season with the 1st XI Emilia has had a brilliant year, capped off with selection for the Irish U16 Girls. Emilia has proven to be a terrifying attacking presence in the England Hockey Leagues, storming through defences and finishing with composure at close range.
U18 Boys Player of the Season - Henry Denny-Gouldson
Having played his way from 7th XI to 1st XI at Cambridge City, Henry this season has been selected for the Great Britain Elite Development Programme (GB EDP). This is a stunning achievement as Henry has never been selected for junior national representation, has faced challenges in his journey and the rest of the squad are made up of University students or adults. On the pitch Henry scores all manner of goals and has grown considerably since making his 1st XI debut last season.
Womens Goalkeeper of the Year - Naomi Hewlett
Winning the award for a second time, before she heads off to University, Naomi has been a rock for the 3rd XI and earned a standing ovation when announced as the winner. Naomi has grown up at the club, progressing through the teams from entry level to being the foundation of the 3rd XI becoming the highest ranked tertiary team in the country (finishing third in Area Premier League).
Mens Goalkeeper of the Year - Mark Sanderson (AKA Guinness)
Another winning the award for a second time in the three years the award has been around - Mark is a true club servant. He has travelled the length and bredth of the East region to ensure teams have a goalkeeper who knows that he is doing. Playing from 3rd XI to 6th XI this season he does not mind where he is sent, as long as he is able to represent the club he loves.
