W1 vs Slough 1

W1 vs Slough 1

The ladies 1s played Slough at the weekend.

City started off exceptionally well and things were certainly looking up from the previous two games. The girls created some great chances but couldn’t quite get the finishing touch. The first quarter stayed 0-0. Despite City’s awesome start, Slough scored a deflection in the first few minutes of the second quarter. With the half time whistle being blown, the girls were still confident that they could bring it back. However, Slough were able to tap in a sneaky goal that slowly drifted across the goal line, making it 2-0. City remained calm and were in fact dominating possession and even winning numerous short corners. Unfortunately, Slough defended well and were determined not to concede! Slough then won a short corner, and scored again to make it 3-0.

Although City lost, the result does not reflect the hard work and grit the girls put in. The girls are travelling to Exeter next weekend and will be fighting hard to grab some points to get the season really going!

Player of the match: Griff and Evie.
