M6 vs March Town 2

Goalscorers, Will Earl x 2, Nigel Gadsby

Teams often turn up early for a match and for good eason. Not to chat among themselves about the previous week but to warm up and start the game firing on all cylinders. That's exactly what March M2s did and the home clubs M6s were under the cosh for the first fifteen minutes. Eventually they were warm and there was end to end action for the rest of the game and accurate ball distribution gave Cambridge the edge. City played at their best when the ball was played out wide using the pace of their younger players.

Penalty corners are an important part of hockey. Convert 1 in 3 and you're on a par with the very best. The M6s may not quite be at that level but they can probably claim to be the best in the club as this is where most of their goals come from. Accurate injections from William F helped Will Earl and Nigel Gadsby score twice and Will Earl added another from open play. At the other end some spectacular saves by Rod maintained another clean sheet and the M6s retained their top spot. As the season progresses, injuries to the old men are taking their toll but the emergence of the youth section players is a constant joy.
