Welcome to Wilberforce Road Sports Ground, home of Cambridge City Hockey Club.   

The last few years have been difficult for many of us, but at CCHC, we have been focusing on helping people get back onto the pitch. That has included organising a number of summer leagues with other local clubs, developing our Youth Section (now well over 450 members between the ages of 4 and 18) and promoting Back-to-Hockey, Walking Hockey and Flyerz. It is fantastic to see so many people playing hockey again!

City’s run of 4 wins on the bounce came to a halt last week at the hands of Birmingham University, so they will be looking to get back to winning ways at the first opportunity. This challenge may prove to be difficult given that their opponents are table topping Cardiff & Met, who are on their own run of 5 back-to-back wins. The away team’s only loss came on the opening day of the season on a long away trip to Durham, so City will hope that their opponent’s form is inversely proportional to their distance from the Welsh capital. This certainly proved to be the case last season when City suffered a 8-2 loss in Cardiff, but managed to edge the match in Cambridge 3-2, so we expect that this will be a close and exciting match.
