Earlier this week news broke that both Spreckers and Evie have made England selection. Evie is a terrifying player when she has the ball. I’m not surprised she’s achieved this selection! During Spreckers’ debut at Norwich his attitude was clearly positive from the start. He’s so composed. So humble. He’s a huge asset to us and the national squad. I’m delighted for both of you and hope you enjoy the experience.

I’d like to congratulate Andy Richardson, our former Chairman, who has coached Southgate to winning Vitality England Hockey East Conference. Absolutely delighted for this true hockey man.

The best news yesterday was the women’s 3s winning promotion to East Prem. They are now one of only five 3rd XIs to play at this level. This is a credit to the leadership of Barks and Baz. The quality of the squad is exceptional. Laura is so composed, Hannah is a machine, Chanre is a T-800 sent back in time to destroy backboards, Ciara and Millie are scarily good, Naomi in goal is so solid - I could go on. On top of that they are lovely people! This promotion has been coming for a while and I couldn’t be happier for the squad.

This is my final game, well I hope it is for a while anyway, as manager. Thank you to those who have kept my daughters entertained around game time, particularly Hannah and Miriam. They still strongly believe you are both princesses. I’m sure Nat and Dilip agree!

I want to thank Grant for trusting me to take this on. It has been a privilege to see the team up close and be part of the match day experience again. I’ve known Grant since he was in his early teens. He’s always been a kind, generous and passionate person. It has been a delight to see him do so well as Coach at the club I love. The players are producing some great hockey but more importantly they are good people across the board. That is what fills me with pride about the team and our club.
