Established in the 1920's, CCHC is one of the leading hockey clubs in the East region. We are also the leading club in Cambridge, with 13 Senior league teams and a thriving Youth section. We currently offer U6 to U18 age group hockey and entered teams into all England Hockey National and Regional competitions for the 21/22 season.
Being such a large club we feel it is important for us to engage with the community as much as possible. We were incredibly proud to host the first ‘Flyerz (Disability) Hockey Festival, and have recently launched the Primary Hub, an initiative to introduce hockey to children at local Cambridge state schools.
Competing at one of the highest levels in Hockey, we have attracted and helped develop some exceptional talent within the club. We have many current and past members of the club who have also represented their country on the international stage, and we continue to attract players of this calibre to the club, who not only play, but also coach our members, passing on their passion and expertise.
Hockey has benefitted from an increasing profile within the UK, particularly after the GB Ladies Hockey team won Gold at the 2016 Olympics. As a result we’ve seen an increase in interest in hockey, both from new starters to the sport to those returning to hockey.
As each season goes by, we see our club go from strength to strength and we eagerly anticipate what next season has in store for us!
Welcome to Cambridge City Hockey Club, and to one of the most exciting times in the Club's long history. I joined 29 years ago when we played on grass pitches at Cambridge Lawn Tennis club, Wilberforce Rd. We haven't moved far physically, still on Wilberforce Road but wow have we moved - three 1st class sand-based astro pitches with a large Clubhouse, 7 Men's teams, 6 Ladies Teams, and both 1st Teams representing the Club at National League Conference level. There are also very strong Masters (our Oldies but Goldies) teams playing Over 35 to Over 60's matches; you are never too old or young to enjoy what we have on offer. In addition our Youth teams (U6s-U18s) play in the EH Junior Competitions. For more information please click here for our youth section.
Our vision is to get both 1st teams into the National League Premier Division, and ultimately playing International level.
We remain a Community-based not-for-profit family Club committed to making hockey available in a safe, friendly and inclusive environment to everyone, for all abilities and social groups in the Cambridge area. We are rightly proud to support Flyerz (Disability) hockey festivals and continue to work with schools and the community to ensure greater access, and enjoyment of our sport. The Club has grown in the past seven years to become one of the largest in the East, competing in local, regional and national competitions. We invite you to come and see what we can offer both playing and socially; it's available for all the family and we trust you include us in your everyday lives living and working in the Cambridge area.
We will do our best to get back to you as soon as possible.
