CCHC are delighted to announce that Nicky Thompson will be joining as player/manager for the 2010/11 season. Whilst Nicky will focus on playing and coaching for the Men he will have a view to aiding youth and coach development within the club. Nicky Thompson has now played and coached at many top clubs throughout the country and has also represented Great Britain culminating in playing at the 1996 Olympics at Atlanta. George Houghton has also agreed to rejoin CCHC after several previous years of service for Cambridge City in East Premier A broken up by a season in the National League with City of Peterborough HC.
First team captain Ben Hudson is excited by the news that both Nicky & George will be on the playing staff for what promises to be a tough season back in East Prem A. 'Nicky has a tonne of playing and coaching experience and was still regularly finding the net for Old Georgians last season in the National League. The lads are all very excited and know what to expect from Thommo off and on the pitch as he demands high standards and exceptional work rate.' 'George is a great asset for any captain as he has the ability to play in a number of positions, he has great distribution and physical presence as well as a sharp eye for goal from both open and dead ball situations.' |
